Our story is one that I deeply love, because it got us to where we are today. So here it is, the behind the scenes of Lindsay and Joderick Arocho. The reasonCulturally Knot started.
Culturally Knot was born out of love, frustration, and a whole lot of what did we just get ourselves into?! My husband and I come from two different worlds—he’s Puerto Rican, I’m not.. and let’s just say, we had no idea how much our cultural differences would shake up our marriage.
What started as cute little quirks quickly turned into misunderstandings, and before we knew it, we were speaking two completely different love languages—literally and figuratively.
We argued about things we didn’t even know could be argued about. Family expectations? Check. Communication styles? Oh, absolutely. Holiday traditions? Let’s just say, “compromise” had to become our middle name.
At one point, we genuinely wondered if love was enough to bridge the cultural gaps between us. Spoiler alert: It wasn’t—at least, not without the right tools.
Determined to make our marriage thrive instead of just survive, we dove deep into research, sought expert advice, and tested real, actionable strategies to navigate our differences. What we discovered changed everything.
